Someone in Lafayette types the job plus the city — plumber, dentist, HVAC, a shop on Public Road. Google shows three businesses in the map pack. Everyone else is a miss.
This page is for local businesses in Lafayette and Boulder County who want those searches. Casey's SEO is not your trade. We do not run the trucks, the chairs, or the storefront. We make sure Google, Google Maps, YouTube, and AI tools can name you when someone nearby is ready to call.

How people find a business in Lafayette
Most of those searches end in the Google map pack — the three businesses on Google Maps at the top of local results. The Google Business Profile is the listing that feeds that pack. The website pages tell Google which jobs you actually run and which parts of Lafayette you cover. YouTube videos about those same jobs and the city show up in Google and give AI Overviews and tools like ChatGPT something true to quote.
If the profile says one city and the site says "we serve Boulder County," you are asking Google to guess. It will guess a competitor who named Lafayette.
Lafayette is not Boulder. It is not Broomfield. It is not Louisville. People type the city they are standing in. A Boulder-only profile does not win that pack.
Google Business Profile
Pick the category that matches the work you actually sell. Categories you do not live up to get you the wrong jobs — or reviews that say you never showed.
Services should be the jobs you sell in this market. Not a copied list from a national franchise. Photos: real jobs, real storefront, real Lafayette. Stock photos look like every other listing. Posts and Q&A keep the profile looking open. Service areas should match where you actually work — not all of Boulder County you cannot reach by noon.
Name, address, and phone have to match the website and the rest of the web.
We cover map-pack work in more detail on Google Maps optimization. The Lafayette version is the same idea with your category and your photos.
Website pages that match the search
Google still wants a page that says the city and the job. One statewide "we serve Colorado" paragraph does not win plumber Lafayette or dentist near me from someone on US-287.
On your site — not this one — you need pages for the cities you serve and the searches people type when they need you today. If you do not run a town, do not list it. Google and AI both punish the business that claims half of Boulder County and shows up from Denver.
That is the same local SEO work we describe on Colorado Springs local SEO, written for a Lafayette business instead of a Springs shop.
Names Google already knows
Use the names people type. Not a dump of every subdivision on the county map.
- Lafayette
- Louisville and Broomfield when you actually serve those packs
- Boulder County when the work crosses town lines
- Coal Creek and Public Road when they matter to the customer
If you do not run a town, leave it off.
Videos: YouTube, Shorts, and AI Overviews
You do not film. Casey writes and produces videos from your services and the cities you serve. They go on YouTube because those videos tend to show up in Google quickly. Backlinks to them are part of what tells Google this business is real and active in Lafayette.
Short clips work too. The job is to show Google and AI that you work here, you know the job, and people can find you fast.
See what that looks like at Get Found.
Timeline: 30–60 and 60–90 days
The map pack is not instant. Google has to see the profile, match it to your site, watch the videos, and trust that you are the right answer for Lafayette. That usually takes 30 to 60 days for the first moves. The next 30 to 60 days often show bigger jumps — more calls, more map visibility, more AI mentions.
We work month to month. If it is not working, you stop. We do not lock you in, and we do not overpromise. Page one is possible. It is not a guarantee. What we do guarantee is that we will use real SEO, real videos, and your real business to get you there.

Call 719-639-8238. Tell Casey your city, your trade, and the customers you want. We talk through what your Google Business Profile looks like now, what your site says about Lafayette, and what videos make sense for your work. Month to month. No lock-in. From there, we go to work.
Why does my Lafayette business profile not show up in Google Maps searches?
Google shows the map pack — three businesses — for each search. If your profile lists the wrong services, has stock photos, or says you serve ten towns you do not actually reach, Google will not send those searches your way. Your category, your real photos, your real service area, and your name, address, and phone all have to match your website and be accurate. We audit those four things first.
Does my website need a Lafayette city page?
Yes. Google sends local searches to businesses with pages that name the city and the job. If someone types "plumber Lafayette" and your site only says "we serve Colorado," Google will rank a competitor who named Lafayette. You do not need a page for every town, just the ones where you actually work.
Do I have to be on YouTube?
Yes. Google and AI tools like ChatGPT use YouTube videos to confirm you are real, you know your job, and you work in Lafayette. Videos also tend to rank fast in Google. We write and produce them — you do not film. They go on your YouTube channel and link back to your site.
How long does it take to show up in the Lafayette map pack?
The first 30 to 60 days are the setup — profile, photos, videos, website pages. After that, Google usually shows more movement. Some businesses see map visibility in 60 days. Others take 90. We work month to month so you can stop if it is not working. Page one is possible, not a promise.
Should I run Google Ads instead of SEO?
Ads and SEO are different. Ads are fast and stop when you stop paying. SEO takes longer but keeps working. A lot of Lafayette businesses do both. We do SEO. If you want to talk about ads, that is a different conversation with a different expert.
