Someone in Fort Collins types the job plus the city — plumber, dentist, HVAC, a shop on Harmony Road or near Old Town. Google shows three businesses in the map pack. Everyone else is a miss.

This page is for local businesses in Fort Collins and the Northern Front Range who want those searches. Casey's SEO is not your trade. We do not run the trucks, the chairs, or the storefront. We make sure Google, Google Maps, YouTube, and AI tools can name you when someone nearby is ready to call.

How people find a business in Fort Collins

Most of those searches end in the Google map pack — the three businesses on Google Maps at the top of local results. The Google Business Profile is the listing that feeds that pack. The website pages tell Google which jobs you actually run and which parts of town you cover. YouTube videos about those same jobs and cities show up in Google and give AI Overviews and tools like ChatGPT something true to quote.

Fort Collins sits in Larimer County on the Northern Front Range. The market is crowded. If your profile says one city and your site says "we serve all of Colorado," you are asking Google to guess. It will guess a competitor who named Fort Collins.

Fort Collins is not Denver. It is not Loveland. It is not Windsor. People type the city they are standing in. A statewide profile does not win the pack in your backyard.

Google Business Profile

Pick the category that matches the work you actually sell. Categories you do not live up to get you the wrong jobs — or reviews that say you never showed.

Services should be the jobs you sell in this market. Not a copied list from a national franchise. Photos: real jobs, real storefront, real Fort Collins. Stock photos look like every other listing. Posts and Q&A keep the profile looking open. Service areas should match where you actually work — not the whole Front Range you cannot reach by noon.

Name, address, and phone have to match the website and the rest of the web.

We cover map-pack work in more detail on Google Maps optimization. The Fort Collins version is the same idea with your category and your photos.

Website pages that match the search

Google still wants a page that says the city and the job. One statewide "we serve Colorado" paragraph does not win plumber Fort Collins or dentist near me from someone on I-25.

On your site — not this one — you need pages for the cities you serve and the searches people type when they need you today. If you do not run a town, do not list it. Google and AI both punish the business that claims half of Larimer County and shows up from Denver.

That is the same local SEO work we describe for any Colorado town, written for a Fort Collins business instead of one south of I-70.

Names Google already knows

Use the names people type. Not a dump of every neighborhood on the county map.

  • Fort Collins
  • Old Town, CSU, Harmony Road when those are near your work
  • Loveland and Windsor when you actually serve those packs

If you do not run a town, leave it off.

Videos: YouTube, Shorts, and AI Overviews

You do not film. Casey writes and produces videos from your services and the cities you serve. They go on YouTube because those videos tend to show up in Google quickly. Backlinks to them are part of Get Found — the SEO hub where we tie the profile, the site pages, and the videos to the same city and job.

Facebook and Instagram can point to the YouTube video. They are optional. YouTube is required because Google owns YouTube. Google will rank those videos in Google results and in AI tools faster than your competitors' static text.

We do not ask you to go on camera. You do not need a ring light, a script, or a video background. We shoot from photos of your real work, your storefront, your tools, and the cities where you work. The script comes from the search people type — the job, the city, the question they ask.

Timeline: 30–60 days, then 60–90

The Google Business Profile update is fast. A few days and the profile is live. The website pages take a week or two. Videos and YouTube links take another week or two. By day 30 to 60, all three are live and tied together.

Page one is possible. It is not a promise. Google's algorithm is not Casey's dial. But a clean profile, tight website pages, and real videos about your Fort Collins work and the jobs you sell make the map pack more likely. The algorithm sees a real business, not a generic one.

By day 60 to 90, the video backlinks and the page authority start to lift rank. You see calls and leads coming from the search. That is when you know it is working.

What we do not do

We do not promise page one. We do not run ads on your behalf. We do not film. We do not tell you to film. We do not sell you fake statistics or made-up rankings. We do local SEO — the Google Business Profile, the website pages for your city and your jobs, the YouTube videos, and the tie-ins that make Google see your business as real and ready to serve Fort Collins.

Why does Fort Collins local SEO need its own profile and website pages?

Fort Collins is its own market with its own searches. When someone types "plumber Fort Collins" or "dentist near me" while standing on Harmony Road, Google uses the Google Business Profile and the website pages that name Fort Collins to rank the map pack. A Denver-only or statewide profile does not match that search. Google punishes a mismatch.

Do I have to film videos for YouTube?

No. Casey writes and produces the videos from your photos, your storefront, and your real jobs in Fort Collins. You do not go on camera. We do not ask you to film.

How long until I see calls from the map pack?

The profile and website pages go live in 30 to 60 days. Calls and leads often start showing up within that window or shortly after. The videos and backlinks boost rank over 60 to 90 days. Every business is different, but you should see the phone ring within the first 90 days if the work is done right.

Should I list Loveland and Windsor on my Fort Collins profile?

Only if you actually serve those towns. Google and AI both punish businesses that claim half the Front Range and do not show up from those packs. If you run jobs in Loveland and Windsor, those towns go on the profile and the website. If you do not, leave them off and focus on Fort Collins.

Is page one guaranteed?

Page one is possible. It is not a promise. Google's algorithm ranks results based on many factors we do not control. But a tight Google Business Profile, website pages that match the city and the job, and real videos about your work in Fort Collins make the map pack and top results much more likely.
