Why is SEO Expensive?

Have you guys ever wondered why SEO is so expensive? Welcome to Casey’s SEO. Now, let’s go over a few different reasons of why SEO is so expensive. I’ve narrowed this down into three different categories. So we have time, we have research, and we have ROI.

In order to get the best SEO strategy for each business, it’s going to take a lot of time and a lot of research. In order to do a lot of research, you need to have the tools and the knowledge to know what you’re doing and what steps need to be done. In order for the best strategy, along with research, you need to know the basic concepts of almost everything. So we have web hosting, web design, WordPress, different plugins, auditing software, google search, console, and analytics. There’s just a lot that goes into SEO that some people may not think about.

Next is time. In order to get the best strategy, you have to spend a lot of time researching, but it also takes a lot of time to implement your strategy on somebody’s site. Now, they do make tools in order to make the implementation a little bit faster, but it is still a lot of manual work, and you have to know, if something goes wrong, how to fix it, what direction you may need to take something. If Google makes an algorithm update, you need to know how to make some changes in order to follow that algorithm. There’s just a lot of things that go on with time and research.

Last, we have ROI, so you should be getting a great return on investment if you have a good SEO strategy. So, for example, if you have an ecommerce site that is making, let’s say, $50 million a year in their organic search is only 3%, and you can take that 3% and increase it to 6%, you are going to make that company a lot of money over the long run by just optimizing their site. So return on investment is a huge deal. So there you go. They’re just a couple of different reasons why SEO is so expensive.
