Your Google Business Profile is your storefront on Google Maps and Search. It needs to match your website so customers see the same business name, services, and contact details everywhere. We help contractors keep that alignment so Google trusts your business and shows it to the right people.

Use Your Real Business Name

Put your actual business name on your Google Business Profile. Not "ABC Plumbing Denver" or "Best HVAC in Colorado Springs." Just your real name. Google wants accuracy. Keyword stuffing the business name confuses customers and hurts your local SEO. If your website says "Riverside Plumbing" then your profile should say "Riverside Plumbing." Nothing more.

Pick One Primary Category That Matches Your Trade

Google gives you one primary category. For plumbers, that's "Plumber." For HVAC, "HVAC Contractor." For roofers, "Roofing Contractor." For electricians, "Electrician." Pick the one that fits your main service. This is not a keyword dump. It is a single, honest category. Look at your website's main service page and match the trade name.

List Services the Same Way Your Website Does

Google lets you add a Services section. Use the exact same language you use on your service pages. If your website says "Water Heater Installation and Repair" then list that. If you do "Emergency Drain Cleaning" then add it. Do not list services you do not actually sell. Do not add vague catch-all phrases. Keep it short and real. When a customer clicks a service on your profile, they should find it on your website too.

Match Contact Details Across the Board

Phone, address, and hours should match the website. If the site shows the Colorado Springs shop, the profile should show that same address and the same phone. A mismatch makes the listing look like a different business.

Use Real Photos of Your Work

Add photos of actual projects, your team, or your trucks. Not stock images. Not a logo by itself. If you are a roofer, show a finished roof. If you are a landscaper, show a finished yard.

Posts Should Open the Matching Page

A Google post should use the same words as the page it is about. The button on that post should open that page. Do not send a furnace-repair post to the homepage, and do not send it to YouTube. The profile and the page should read like the same offer.

The website button on the profile should go to the page you want the next click to land on. Use the homepage only when the homepage is that page.

Get the profile and the website saying the same thing. Talk to Casey or call 719-639-8238. Month to month.

Does my business name need my city or service in it on Google?

No. Use your real business name. Google already knows your location from your address and your service from your primary category. Adding "Denver" or "Best" or "Affordable" to your business name on the profile is keyword stuffing and confuses customers. Your website and profile should show the same name.

What if my website says something different than my Google profile?

Update one or both so they match. If the website lists furnace repair and the profile only lists HVAC installation, a customer sees two different offers. Use the same service names, address, phone, and hours.

Should I fill every field on my Google Business Profile?

Fill the fields that apply to your business. Required: name, address, phone, hours, primary category. Recommended: services, photos, website link, and business description. Leave blank any field that does not apply. Do not force information just to fill space. Quality over completeness.

How do reviews fit into matching my profile and website?

Reviews live on the Google profile. Getting them the right way is covered in how to get more Google reviews legally. For the profile and the website, match the name, the services, the phone, and the pages those services link to.
