Have you ever logged on to your website and you noticed that your website was not secure? If you have, you definitely need to get that fixed and let’s go over a couple of different fixes that you can do right away. Welcome to Casey’s SEO. So if you’ve ever seen that Https on your WordPress site is not secure, it’s a couple of different reasons. Either your SSL certificate expired, which can happen if you try to get a free certificate, or if your payment period has ended.
Another reason maybe you never actually made your website secure. And if that is the case, you need to either one, purchase an SSL from your hosting provider or activate your SSL from your hosting provider. So for me, I’ve done this both ways. I’ve hosted with either HostGator or GoDaddy in the past. And the one downside with hosting with some companies is you have to pay an additional fee for an SSL.
Now, those fees can range anywhere from forty dollars to sixty dollars a year, and that will just depend on the hosting provider. But for the past few years, I’ve been hosting with In Motion Hosting, and one key that I like with that hosting provider is they give you unlimited access to SSL. Once you’re in your Cpanel and you’ve created your WordPress site, all you have to do is update your SSL. And 99% of the time your SSL will automatically be activated. But sometimes it is not.
And then it is kind of a pain in the butt because you have to do it over and over. And then sometimes you may have to reach out to your hosting provider to activate that for you. But in the long run, if you have multiple sites, it may save you anywhere from say, 300 plus dollars per year on multiple SSLs. So those are just a couple of different ways that you can activate your SSL if you see your site is not activated. So contact your hosting provider, either pay for that SSL or try to get that SSL activated by yourself.

If your WordPress website says it is not secure, there are a few things you can do. The first step is to obtain an SSL certificate, which is a security protocol that encrypts data transmitted over the internet. This is often done through a Certificate Authority. Some examples of such companies include RapidSSL and Symantec. However, keep in mind that your SSL will expire after a certain amount of time, so you will need to renew it.

SSL is an industry standard that enables encrypted communication between browsers and servers. Sometimes you might encounter a mixed content error on your WordPress website, but there is no need to panic. This error is caused by a WordPress plugin or theme. There are several different options that can be used to fix the issue. Some of these options include caching, widgets, and capture.
Firstly, you can make sure that your site has an SSL certificate installed. You can get one for free at Let’s Encrypt or Cloudflare. You can also install a plugin called SSL Insecure Content Fixer that will automatically resolve insecure links. The plugin comes with multiple levels of action, with Simple being the default setting. Besides checking the settings of your WordPress website, you should also check your SSL certificate. If you have installed the Really Simple SSL plugin, it will force WordPress to use an SSL certificate. If you do not have a certificate, you can download one for free at Let’s Encrypt, Cloudflare, and other CDNs.
A mixed content warning on your WordPress website is a common warning from a security perspective. This is caused when your website mixes HTTP and HTTPS content. Most commonly used browsers will raise an alert if they encounter HTTP content alongside HTTPS content. It is therefore very important to ensure that your WordPress site is fully HTTPS-encrypted.
Another cause of mixed content errors is an SSL certificate. When the content of your site is served over an HTTP connection, it is important that your site uses a secure SSL certificate. If you do not have a secure certificate, your website may be vulnerable to attacks.
If your WordPress website is receiving mixed content warnings from visitors, you need to change the URLs on your site to HTTPS. HTTPS is the standard for delivering content over the web, and search engines like Google penalize sites that don’t use it. An insecure site is also a risk to Google’s ranking, and users of browsers like Chrome get a double-dose of warnings whenever they visit an insecure site.
Changing URLs to HTTPS can be a quick and easy fix for this problem. When certain resources and links run on HTTP, a mixed content warning is displayed in the address bar. If you want to make sure that your WordPress website uses HTTPS, you should first install an SSL certificate on your website. This will allow your site to be recognized as a secure website, and you should be able to see the padlock icon in the browser address bar. Press the padlock to confirm that your connection is secure.
Once you’ve installed the SSL certificate, you can use the HTTPS checker to make sure that your HTTPS URL is working properly. You should check all links to ensure that they are valid. If you find any that are not valid, you can use a linkchecker to fix them. If you’re using an external domain, you can ask the owner of the site to make their content available via HTTPS if possible.
Changing URLs to HTTPS can also be a good way to fix the mixed content errors on your WordPress website. The most obvious fix is to change all links to HTTPS using the Better Search Replace plugin. Using the plugin, you can fix the mixed content error in minutes.
Changing URLs to HTTPS is a great way to protect your website and increase the overall visitor experience. It will also help your SEO ranking as Google will consider your site’s security a ranking factor.
