Do SEO keywords need to be exact? Welcome to Casey’s SEO. So your keywords do not need to be exact, but you do need to have a main keyword throughout the page in order to give a little bit more relevance of what the page is really about. Then you can use different variations of the keyword for your H two S, H three S, your image alt tags and just sprinkle those throughout that content and then that will give you a better chance of ranking for your main keyword and relevant keywords. Now, when choosing keywords, make sure to use a medium tail keyword for your main service page for example.
So choose something that is not going to be too difficult to rank for, but something that you could potentially rank for in the future. So remember, keywords don’t necessarily have to be exact, but you still need to follow a structure and base one or two keywords for each page.
